This is my clay dragon that I've been working on since October. I abandoned it alot, so I have no idea how long it REALLY took me to make.
It's made of Sculpey clay and stands about 9 inches tall.
:3
It's my first serious attempt at making a clay sculpture, so I'm pretty excited with how it came out. CX
I plan on painting it ASAP so I can submit it to this scolarshipthingamabob my teacher was talking about.
Unless I'm already too late.
In which case
I'll probably kill myself.

The scales took alot of time and sanity, I tell you what.
They're kindof overdone (especially on the face) but... letspretendliketheyrenot. T^T
Comments with suggestions of colors/a name would be mucho appreciated. <3
Wow, I am thinking of trying my hand at sculpting. And if I made anything half as amazing as that I would be suprised. Great job. Hope you didn't miss the scholarship thing.
Beautiful love the detail.. and yeah.. i know what its like.. trying to do the scales.. lol i gave up and just went with unscaley skin on my dragon.. XD lol.. ill have that up soon as well.. Its really nice. Great job! ^^
THAT'S FRICKIN' AMAZING... I just stared at that for about fifteen minutes with my mouth hanging open. I just can't get over how incredible this looks and... THIS is your first clay sculpture? Damn, I'd like to see how ungodly your work is after a lot of practice!
Did you have any sort of armature for this or is it all just clay?
Kudos on some grade-A work, hope it gets you that scholarship-thing, it damn well better because the amount of detail is mind blowing!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
